Star Wars 3D in 2012

After the Blu-Ray releases of Star Wars, George Lucas is planning to release the trilogies in 3D. All six movies will be converted to 3D, beginning with The Phantom Menace in 2012 and every next installment each year 'till 2017. I'd prefer A New Hope to be released first, instead this 'chronological' order. This is still in the 'rumor section', so expect more news soon.

The new re-mastered 3D versions of Star Wars are supposed to be released by FOX.

'Lost' 1970s Japanese Star Wars Toy Commercial

Awesome retro commercial for the Stormtroopers toys made by Super7. Watch the video and see what's all about, below.

"A Japanese toy commercial for Star Wars toys was thought to be lost for thirty years, but has now been found! Okay, not really....but this may be even cooler. We at Super7 produced our own retro-video for the STORMTROOPER SUPER SHOGUN figure, shot in the style of Japanese toy commercials from the 1970s. Using the old videos as our storyboards, a few sparklers, and a lot of effort has resulted in this fun video!"

The STORMTROOPER SUPER SHOGUN is available at www.super7store.com

What is the Force?

The Force, according to the most accurate Star Wars Encyclopedia:

The Force was a metaphysical, binding, and ubiquitous power that held enormous importance for both the Jedi and Sith monastic orders. The Force was viewed in many different aspects, including, but not limited to, the light side, the dark side, the Unifying Force, and the Living Force. The first two aspects were concerned with the moral compass of the Force in its various manifestations. The light side of the Force was the facet aligned with compassion, courage, healing, and benevolence, while the dark side of the Force was the element aligned with hatred, fear, aggression, and malevolence. The latter two aspects were defined by prominent Jedi philosophies: The Unifying Force essentially embraced space and time in its entirety while the Living Force dealt with the energy of living things. Though the Force was categorized in this way, there were no specific abilities or powers that were only usable by a follower of a different path of the Force; the Force partially existed inside the life forms that used it, and drew energy from their emotions.

Some beings, particularly the Sith, believed that the dark side of the Force was more powerful than the light, though it was possible that the dark side was just more tempting to those who used it (or desired to use it). Others thought of the Force as an entity capable of intelligent thought, almost as a sort of god. Anakin Skywalker, who was believed to have been conceived by the Force itself, may have; if this belief is correct; lent credit towards the view of the Force as a sentient entity.

Though the Force was thought to flow through every living thing, it could only be harnessed by beings described as "Force-sensitive". This Force-sensitivity was correlated with, and sometimes attributed to, a high count of internal microorganisms called midi-chlorians that were found in a Force-sensitive's blood: the higher the count, the greater the being's potential Force ability, though there were some exceptions to this rule. Force-sensitive beings were able to tap into the Force to perform acts of great skill and agility as well as control and shape the world around them. Sometimes this ability was described as having a strong Force "aura".

Star Wars: Renaissance (fan-film)

Star Wars: Renaissance is the newest Star Wars fan-made film that caught fans attention these days. What's all about?

"Star Wars: Renaissance" (original title: "Renacimiento") is a fan film created by the Chilean crew "Estudio 19/Droi-D", based on the Star Wars universe, and directed by local filmmaker Inti Carrizo-Ortiz. The plot, set two years after the events of Revenge of the Sith, tells the story of two Clone Wars veterans: a maverick Jedi Knight and leader of a subversive cell called "The Renaissance Group", and his former brother-in-arms, a dogmatic warrior turned into an Imperial Executor out of blind loyalty. The film premiered on November 2, 2008 at the FIXION-SARS Fantasy, Sci-Fi and Terror Film Festival, and was released on-line on March 3, 2009. On July 22nd, 2010, it was announced as an Official Star Wars Fan Movie Challenge finalist, and was awarded with the 2010 Audience Choice Award.

You can watch and download the movie on the official website.
